My son LOVES his new book. This book could probably have been written simply and clearly as a non-fiction account of the author's experiences, but instead his failed attempts at injecting drama, humour, and suspense have made for a very poor novel. I would not say they are suspenseful, but they have some twists, and the central character, Guido Brunetti, the dogged police detective, is a strong element in all of the works.
